HC Deb 10 March 1944 vol 397 cc2354-5W
Mr. Wootton-Davies

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power the number of shifts lost in the mining industry, for which a guaranteed wage was paid, in the four weeks ended 15th January, with separate figures showing the number due to each of the various causes why no work was available for the workers receiving payment.

Major Lloyd Georģe

With regard to the first part of the Question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for Wigan (Mr. Foster) on 17th February. I regret that separate figures showing the various causes of lost shifts are not available on a national basis, but the position is kept constantly under review by my Regional Officers.
