§ Flight-Lieutenant Challenasked the Minister of Labour why it has been decided to legislate by Defence Regulations, S.R. & O., 1944, No. 181, that the day on which Good Friday occurs this year 2206W shall not be Good Friday in certain circumstances; why Scotland is being better treated in this respect; and whether every effort was made to achieve his limited object without giving any possible offence to religious feeling.
§ Mr. E. BevinThese Regulations remove certain legal obligations, which do not exist in Scotland, to treat Good Friday as a compulsory holiday in the Customs and at factories. Save for certain special provisions with regard to Bills of Exchange, the Regulations are identical with those made last year.
