HC Deb 02 March 1944 vol 397 c1588W
Mrs. Tate

asked the Minister of Health whether he will now have clear instructions given to all evacuees and billetees as to the necessity for their arriving at their destination with their own supply of household linen.

Mr. Willink

I recognise that it may often be difficult for householders to supply household linen for the use of persons billeted on them. It may, however, be equally difficult for the billeted persons to provide these articles themselves, and I doubt whether it would be practicable in present conditions to impose a requirement in the sense suggested.
