HC Deb 30 June 1944 vol 401 c940W
Mr. Naylor

asked the Minister of Agriculture what steps are being taken to ensure that members of the W.L.A. who work in glasshouses are transferred to other duties during air raids.

Mr. Hudson

The desirability of transferring glasshouse workers, including members of the Women's Land Army, to other work during an air raid is a matter which must be decided in each case by the employer having regard to the imminence of the danger. All members of the Women's Land Army have been provided with "tin hats" as a protection when at work.
