HC Deb 28 June 1944 vol 401 c722W
Sir R. Gower

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he will set out in detail the facilities now available to the Admiralty Industrial Civil Servants Federation to enable it to fulfil its proper function of carrying on negotiations arid other activities on behalf of the 12,000 employees it represents in Admiralty establishments.

Mr. Alexander

Office accommodation is provided in the main dockyards for the use of the Admiralty Industrial Civil Servants Federation, and representatives of the Federation are entitled to raise arid discuss any question affecting the conditions of employment of their members in Admiralty industrial establishments by correspondence, by personal interviews or by more formal conferences with Admiralty officials. If the question affects only one establishment, the Federation approaches the Officer-in-Charge of the establishment in the first instance; if it is more general the Federation takes it up with the Admiralty. The Federation makes full use of these facilities.
