HC Deb 21 June 1944 vol 401 c203W
Colonel Carver

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the contemplated increased distribution of kippers, some special effort can be made to distribute them in rural areas where, in normal times, they were a regular addition to the workers' menu.

Colonel Llewellin

I have been asked to reply. The expected increase in the output of kippers will not be large because of the shortage of labour, and would not be sufficient to justify the institution of a scheme of controlled distribution.
