§ Sir R. Clarryasked the Secretary of State for War how soon his Department can utilise the specialised services of the civilian engineering industry in this country for essential repair and constructional work with the invasion Army on the Continent of Europe, so that a number of Army units at present engaged on this work, may be made available for military services.
§ Sir J. GriggThe question must depend on the progress and course of operations. In the meantime discussions are taking place with representatives of the industry to see on what conditions the services of civilian firms could be utilised should it become desirable at any time to do so.
