HC Deb 16 June 1944 vol 400 c2306W
Mr. Naylor

asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he is taking to give priority to war workers when the new supply of alarm clocks reaches the market.

Mr. Dalton

As I informed my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Wycombe (Sir A. Knox) on 4th April last, all the most urgent claims for alarm clocks should now have been met. As from Monday last, alarm clocks may be sold permit-free. Arrangements have been made to distribute any further supplies imported from North America to retailers in areas where experience has shown that there is a demand from war workers.
