§ Sir F. Sandersonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the continued increase in hoarding of notes and the loss sustained to the National Exchequer through the increasing volume of transactions which are taking place for cash rather than by cheque, he will consider the issuing of new Treasury notes and Bank of England notes, and cause all notes at present in circulation to be cancelled on a date to be determined by the Treasury.
§ Sir J. AndersonNo, Sir. I do not think such action either necessary or desirable.
