HC Deb 07 June 1944 vol 400 cc1363-4W
Mr. Hogg

asked the Secretary of State for Air how many forms for application for registration for the Parliamentary franchise have been printed and how many issued; and whether he can give an assurance that all ranks have been informed that, unless this form is completed, they will have no vote at the next General Election even if they were on the old register.

Sir A. Sinclair

Sufficient forms have been printed to allow all R.A.F. and W.A.A.F. personnel to complete the necessary declarations. My hon. Friend will realise that security considerations make it impossible for me to give the figures. As regards the second part of the Question, the instructions which have been issued emphasise that every person, whether previously registered or not, who wishes to be included in the new register of voters must make a declaration. Suitable opportunities have been and are being taken to remind all R.A.F. and W.A.A.F. personnel of this point.
