HC Deb 04 July 1944 vol 401 c1003W
Captain Gammans

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if it is proposed to send a special mission to Chungking comparable in status to the American mission led by Mr. Henry Wallace.

Mr. George Hall

I regret that the suggestion made by my hon. and gallant Friend is not practicable at present. The recent Parliamentary Mission to China, with the return visit of the Chinese Goodwill Mission, showed, I think, our wish to maintain the closest contact with our gallant Ally.
