§ Mr. Parkerasked the Minister of Health with reference to the scheme of financial allowances for certain categories of sufferers from tuberculosis, whether maintenance allowances paid by local authorities to married women who give up remunerative employment in order to undergo treatment qualify for reimbursement by the Exchequer if the husband is earning or if the husband is in the Forces.
§ Mr. WillinkIt is the object of the arrangements which have been made to enable persons to give up employment and undertake treatment without anxiety as to the maintenance of their dependants. This would not ordinarily arise in the cases to which my hon. Friend refers, but if he has any particular case in mind, I shall be glad to have inquiries made.
