Captain Pluģģeasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether members of the N.F.S. are allowed, in addition to their duties, to carry on a retail business.
§ Mr. H. MorrisonA member of the National Fire Service is free to undertake outside work (other than paid firewatching) or to assist in a business or profession of his own when he is off duty, provided that the work does not prejudice his efficiency as a fireman or prevent him from carrying out any duties for which he may be liable.
