HC Deb 21 December 1944 vol 406 cc1980-1W
Lieut.-Colonel Heneage

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make it clear that the 300,000 food parcels and 10,000 medical parcels provided for the Channel Islands together with the chartering of the ship was paid for and given free by the War Organisation of the British Red Cross Society and Order of St. John.

Mr. H. Morrison

I have already acknowledged the generous part played by the War Organisation of the British Red Cross Society and Order of St. John in these arrangements. The supplies of food parcels, invalid diet supplements medical requisites and soap, and the chartering of the ship, were paid for by the War Organisation, and have been given free.
