HC Deb 21 December 1944 vol 406 cc1970-1W
Mr. Fraser

asked the Minister of Health if he will give further consideration to the desirability of making a minimum rent allowance to supplementary pensioners, in view of the fact that in less desirable and very low-rented houses there is an absence of amenities which results in relatively higher housekeeping costs.

Mr. Willink

I cannot add to the reply I gave to a similar question by my hon. Friend on 8th June last, beyond pointing out that the circumstances in such cases vary widely and that they could not therefore appropriately be dealt with by a flat rate allowance.
