HC Deb 21 December 1944 vol 406 c1997W
Mr. Gretton

asked the Secretary of State for Air if he has any further statement to make with regard to the explosion which took place on 27th November near Burton-on-Trent.

Sir A. Sinclair

A Court of Inquiry has been held and its findings are under consideration. I regret that a small increase in the number of injured has been reported. I am glad to have this opportunity of paying tribute to the invaluable and heroic work carried out by the Mines Rescue Organisation. In all, 15 Mines Rescue Brigades, totalling some 100 men, were in action. Unhappily, one of the rescue workers lost his life.
