§ Mr. Turtonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, under the post-war scheme for the marketing of West African cocoa, it will be possible for manufacturers to buy in a futures market, with a view to the stabilisation of wholesale and retail prices.
§ Colonel StanleyAs I informed my hon. Friend on 13th December, I am not yet in a position to make a final statement on the arrangements for the marketing of West African cocoa. I see no reason, however, why the scheme as at present envisaged should interfere with marketing practice of the kind mentioned.
