Mr. De la Bèreasked the Secretary of State for War whether, in connection with the Forces in the Middle East who may obtain leave in Cairo, he will consider making arrangements whereby a reduced rate of hotel charges is made available so as to make their leave more enjoyable without over-spending and getting beyond their means.
§ Sir J. GriggAs far as I know sufficient accommodation is provided in hostels and clubs run by voluntary bodies for all ranks spending their leave in Cairo. The charges are reasonable. I am inquiring whether special arrangements with hotels exist, and if not whether any should be made.
