§ Major Vyvyan Adamsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many women are, according to the latest available returns, employed in the civil department of the Government in established and temporary posts, respectively, in the grades of principal and above that of principal, respectively, excluding executive specialist and advisory posts.
§ Sir J. AndersonOn 1st July, 1944, 100 women were employed in the Civil Service in the grade of Principal, and 17 in administrative posts above the grade of Principal. Of these, 39 and 13 respectively were established civil servants, and 61 and 4 respectively were temporary civil servants.
