asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can state the names of the United Nations War Crimes Commission; the number of meetings they have held; and the date of their last meeting.

The United Nations War Crimes Commission is composed of representatives of the Governments of Australia, Belgium, China, Czechoslovakia, Greece, India, Luxemburg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom, the United States and Yugoslavia and of the French Committee of National Liberation. The United Kingdom representative, who is concurrently the Chairman of the Commission, is Sir Cecil Hurst, formerly Legal Adviser to the Foreign Office and a judge at the Permanent Court of International Justice at the Hague. The other representatives are all distinguished lawyers or diplomatists.

I am informed that the Commission has held twenty-five full meetings, apart from the meetings of its sub-committees, and the most recent meetings was on Tuesday, 25th July.
