§ Mr. Granvilleasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the welfare officers of his Department have investigated the case of Mrs. R. Howie, the wife of Petty-Officer W. A. Howie, who is unable to obtain suitable accommodation although engaged upon war work; and, if so, with what results.
Mr. AlexanderThe Admiralty Family Welfare Section at Portsmouth has investigated the case of Mrs. Howie and arranged hospital accommodation for her at the time of her confinement. Steps were also taken to try to secure alternative accommodation for her. I am glad to learn that suitable accommodation has now been found.
