HC Deb 26 April 1944 vol 399 cc791-2W
Mr. Bellenger

asked the Minister of Pensions who are the members of the Special Grants Committee; and what are its functions.

Sir W. Womersley

The Special Grants Committee exercises such of the functions transferred to it by the Naval and Military War Pensions, etc. (Transfer of Powers) Act, 1917, as are still operative. These are now practically confined to the review of grants to disabled officers of the Great War made by the Committee under Section 3 (1) (c) of the Naval and Military War Pensions Act, 1915, and the determination of questions referred to them under Section 3 (1) (f) of that Act.

Its members are as follows:

  • Sir Charles Doughty, K.C. (Chairman).
  • Miss M. Cozens-Hardy, M.B.E., J.P.
  • Mr. F. Gould, O.B.E.
  • Capt. F. Nicholl

  • Lt.-Col. V. Vivian, C.M.G., D.S.O., M.V.O.
  • Mr. A. G. Webb, M.B.E.
  • Miss E. Wilson.
