HC Deb 23 September 1943 vol 392 c444W
Mr. Harvey

asked the Home Secretary whether, in view of the changed situation in Europe and other relevant considerations, he is now prepared to consider the release from detention of the hon. and gallant Member for Midlothian and Peebles (Capt. Ramsay)?

Mr. H. Morrison

As regards every person who is detained under Defence Regulation 18B, it is my duty to consider from time to time whether detention is still necessary in the interests of national security, and for this purpose to take account of all relevant considerations, including considerations which arise from change in the international situation. My hon. Friend can be assured that there has been and will be no failure to apply this procedure to the case of the hon. and gallant Member for Midlothian and Peebles.
