HC Deb 23 September 1943 vol 392 c418W
Major Studholme

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has explored the use of serpentine with superphosphate as is done in New Zealand, seeing that superphosphate is essential on light soils on which basic slag has little, if any effect?

Mr. Hudson

Experiments to determine the advantage; if any, of using a mixture of superphosphate and serpentine in place of ordinary superphosphate under conditions obtaining in this country are being made, but I am not at present able to make any statement with regard to the results of this work.
