asked the Secretary of State for Air whether there is any con- nection between, or general deduction to be drawn from, accidents to passenger-carrying planes, of which there have been a number in the last 12 months.

The number of accidents to aircraft in this class has not been disproportionately high. A careful and thorough investigation is held into each accident and in the light of the reports prompt action is taken to eliminate avoidable risks.
