HC Deb 22 September 1943 vol 392 c240W
Mr. Mathers

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport, what is the present position in respect of the construction of a road bridge over the Forth, near Queensferry; has the site been officially approved; and is it Government policy to go on with the project whenever conditions make this possible?

Mr. Noel-Baker

My Noble Friend has come to no decision about the construction of a road bridge across the Forth nor has any site for such a bridge been as yet approved. As my hon. Friend is aware, authorising legislation would be required.
