§ Sir J. GriggThe answer to the first part of the Question is 131 and to the second 222. An officer is, however, required to declare any serviceable items of clothing which he already possesses and which are suitable to form part of such outfit, e.g., underclothing, dressing gown, handkerchiefs, pyjamas and sippers, and the coupon value of these items is deducted from the 222 coupons. These figures exclude a few items which a re issued both to officers and other ranks for which no coupon value is available. The answer to the third part of the Question is 57. For the first year of his service an officer receives 38 coupons for maintenance and for each subsequent year 76.
