HC Deb 28 October 1943 vol 393 c397W
Mr. Thorne

asked the President of the Board of Education whether his attention has been called to the case of a schoolgirl having her mouth plastered by a Luton teacher because she was clever in answering questions; and what he intends doing about the matter?

Mr. Butler

This matter has already been handled by the local education authority, and has come before the local magistrates, who dismissed the case, the teacher being required to pay costs. I do not think any further action is called for.
