HC Deb 21 October 1943 vol 392 c1527W
Mr. Henderson Stewart

asked the President of the Board of Trade why the Surplus Textiles Corporation, created under the auspices of his Department to control the sale of Government surplus textiles, contains only London merchants and no representatives of other important textile centres in the country?

Mr. Dalton

The membership of the Surplus Textiles Corporation is open to textile merchants from any part of the country. The council of the corporation is not yet complete and will include representatives of other textile centres as well as of London.
