HC Deb 20 October 1943 vol 392 c1398W
Mr. Evelyn Walkden

asked the President of the Board of Trade why he intends to requisition a factory of which he has been informed and what advantage will accrue to the war effort; and whether he is prepared to consider a less drastic proposal?

Captain Waterhouse

The premises in question are urgently required for the Ministry off Food, and the Ministry of Supply have at our request agreed that they may be released. As to the third part of the Question, the Board of Trade are naturally always ready to consider alternative proposals, but I am advised that the whole space is required.
