HC Deb 19 October 1943 vol 392 c1238W
Mr. Mathew

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many previous recipients of supplementary pensions have received benefit from the passing of the recent Pensions and Determination of Needs Act and to what extent; and what is the prospect of a further increase for those who have not received the benefit they anticipated?

Mr. Johnston

Increases on account of the new treatment of capital and superannuation payments or both were given in 13,569 cases in Scotland. In 8,010 cases the increases were 2s. or less, in 1,980 cases 2s. 6d. and in 3,579 cases 3s. or more. As regards the last part of the Question, I am not sure what my hon. Friend has in mind.
