HC Deb 19 October 1943 vol 392 c1226W
Sir P. Hannon

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will make a statement on his plans for the restoration of British export trade following the cessation of hostilities; whether he is in a position to inform House of the progress of negotiations with the United States Government with this object; and whether the representations submitted by industrial and commercial organisations are receiving sympathetic consideration?

Mr. Dalton

I would refer my hors-Friend to the full statement on this subject which my right hon. Friend the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department and I made in the Debate on Overseas Trade on 27th July last to which I have nothing at present to add. My hon. Friend can rest assured that the representations on this subject submitted me by industrial and commercial organisations are receiving careful consideration.
