§ Mr. HicksPreliminary tests were carried out by this Ministry for the Fuel Efficiency Committee of the Ministry of Fuel and Power in July and August, 1942. Further tests were not proceeded with as at the time the testing staff was fully occupied on other work and the Fuel Efficiency Committee decided that there was sufficient evidence from various quarters on the subject of economisers.
