asked the Secretary of State for War whether he has received any information regarding the number of cases of typhus fever that have occurred amongst the troops in Africa and Sicily; and whether any typhoid fever cases have been reported from these areas?

During the last typhus season in North Africa there were 20 cases of this fever among British troops, of which six were fatal. Operations in Sicily occurred in the summer months and no cases have been reported from this area during the period. Some 3o cases of typhoid fever have been reported from North Africa.
