HC Deb 14 October 1943 vol 392 c1084W
Mr. Gallacher

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has given consideration to the terms of the resolution passed at two conferences in Cowdenbeath and Leven, and forwarded to him by the hon. Member for West Fife, regarding increased old age pensions and the abolition of the means test; and what statement he has to make of the steps he is prepared to take on this matter?

Sir J. Anderson

I have considered this resolution. The matters to which it relates are under consideration by the Government in connection with the Beveridge Report.
