§ Mr. N. Macleanasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he is aware that the transport department of the Glasgow Corporation has issued notices that their motor-omnibuses on certain routes will stop only at motor-omnibus fare stations to pick up and set down passengers which will cause inconvenience and additional expense to many people travelling to and from their employment and consequent reduction of production; and whether he will take action to have this arrangement stopped and the original motor-omnibus stops restored?
§ Mr. Noel-BakerThe number of omnibus stops has been reduced on certain910W routes in Glasgow with the object of encouraging short-distance passengers to use the alternative trams, thus leaving more room on the omnibuses for long distance passengers. The effect should be that while some passengers have to walk slightly further at the city end of their journey, all passengers will benefit by finding more room on the omnibuses. The position will be kept under review.
