HC Deb 13 October 1943 vol 392 c910W
Mr. J. Henderson

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he is aware that the withdrawal of the Scottish Motor Traction Company's motor-omnibus on Tuesday and Friday each week, Carlisle to Edinburgh and Edinburgh to Carlisle, is causing great hardship to the people residing between Langholm and Hawick, leaving them without any road transport service; and, in view of the fact that some of these inhabitants live 10 miles from the nearest railway station, will he take immediate steps to provide them with reasonable transport facilities on the days mentioned?

Mr. Noel-Baker

This service was withdrawn on Tuesdays and Fridays, because so few passengers made use of it.
