§ Sir J. GriggThe answer to the first part of the Question is "No, Sir." The immediate commander carrying out the discharge would inform the man of the reason.
§ Mr. Hutchinsonasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will consider the issue of chevrons of a distinctive colour for service in the Local Defence Volunteers and Home Guard?
§ Sir J. GriggAs announced by the Prime Minister on 3rd August the Home Guard will follow the Army practice in this respect and will be entitled to wear chevrons for their years of service. In view of these arrangements it is thought undesirable to issue a special chevron to the Home Guard.
