asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury how many copies have been sold of the Beveridge Report and the abridged Report, respectively, giving the figures for this country and the United States of America separately?

The sales in round figures of the full report are 256,000, of the abridged edition 369,000, and of the American edition 40,000.

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury into how many languages has the Beveridge Report, or the abridgement thereof, been translated?

Mr. Assheton

Permission has been sought and given for the translation of the Beveridge Report into three languages, Spanish, Portuguese and German, and the translations have been published in Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Mexico and Switzerland. Parts I and VI of the Report have, I understand, been translated into Czech. The abridgment has been translated into Italian and Chinese.
