HC Deb 11 November 1943 vol 393 cc1318-9W
Mr. Kirby

asked the Minister of Supply whether he is aware that many of the workers at a certain Royal Ordnance factory are dissatisfied with new hours of employment which compels them to work part-time or for 12 hours on end, whereas others in the same factory are working on regular eight-hour shifts; and will he take steps to abolish part-time employment except in cases where the workers concerned cannot work full time for domestic or other reasons?

Mr. Sandys

The hours of work to which my hon. Friend refers apply only to part of one shop in the factory. This is a purely temporary arrangement and is at this moment under review.
