§ Captain Pluggeasked the First Lord of the Admiralty why naval auxiliary personnel are only granted compensation for injuries sustained ashore if this is directly attributable to enemy action whereas this restriction does not apply to disablement sustained in the Royal Navy Reserve; and, as both Services are subject to the same naval discipline on shore or afloat, will he consider including naval auxiliary personnel in the benefit of Sections I and II of the recent White Paper on Entitlement and Accident?

Naval auxiliary personnel, unlike Royal Naval reservists, are persons serving under special war-time agreements in a Mercantile Marine capacity and at Mercantile rates of pay.
