§ Mr. E. Walkdenasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware of the inadequate arrangements for the reception and billeting of women, aero-engine fitters, recently transferred to a town in Scotland, of which he has been informed, from their training centre; and whether he will take steps generally to improve the accommodation?
§ Mr. BevinArrangements were made in advance for the billeting and feeding of the women in question, they were met on arrival, a hot meal was ready for them, and they were taken to their billets, where I understand they were well received. Other accommodation was found for them within a few days, and I do not think the initial arrangements can fairly be described as inadequate in the circumstances.
