§ Mr. H. MorrisonThe duties of H.M. Inspectors of Constabulary, which are prescribed by statute, are to visit and inquire into the state and efficiency of police forces other than the Metropolitan Police, and for this purpose they are called upon to deal with all questions relating to the police service, including that of the employment of women police. If the suggestion is that a woman inspector should be appointed to deal primarily with the question of the employment of women, I do not think that there would be justification for the appointment of a woman inspector at the present time.
