§ Mr. Prittasked the Minister of Labour whether he has considered a recent decision of the High Court to the effect that employers ordered by his National Service officers to reinstate workers whom they have dismissed without justification can comply with the law by paying such workers wages whilst refusing to allow them to work; and, as such a practice enables any employer to get rid of any workers he dislikes in most cases at the public expense and is destructive of morale and otherwise wasteful and antisocial, will he take steps to amend the Essential Work Order so as to make it unlawful for the future?
§ Mr. BevinI would refer my hon. and learned Friend to the reply given to the hon. Member for Huntingdonshire (Dr. Peters) on 22nd April, 1943.
