Major Lloyd GeorgeThe collection and reclamation of used lubricating nil is coordinated by the Lubricating Oil Pool of the Petroleum Board. A number of refineries for the treatment of used oil are in operation. Where large quantities of lubricating oil of a particular quality are used it is more economical for consumers to filter their used oil for re-use and a large number of licences for the acquisition of filters have been issued. In other cases waste oil is used for the manufacture of greases and low grade lubricants. Large industrial consumers have been informed of the need for economy in the use of lubricating oil and for its reclamation.
