HC Deb 31 March 1943 vol 388 c185W
Major Lyons

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether his attention has been called to the general shortage of fish supplies in the city of Leicester; and can he make a statement thereupon and indicate whether an early improvement is likely?

Mr. Mabane

In January the supplies in Leicester, as in other towns attached to the same chief port, were less than the national average. The position in February was better and with larger landings and an improved system of primary allocations there is every reason why the city should receive its full share in future of supplies available.
