HC Deb 25 March 1943 vol 387 cc1792-3W
Mr. Lawson

asked the right hon. and gallant Member for Rye, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, whether the Forestry Commission has now completed its investigations into the question of post-war policy of replanting areas where timber has been cut down during the war; and when the House can be told the result of such investigations?

Sir G. Courthope

The Forestry Commissioners have completed preliminary investigations into post-war forest policy including the replanting of felled areas. This, as the Chancellor of the Exchequer informed the hon. Member on 18th inst., will form one of the topics for consideration in the Government's post-war plans, the result of which will no doubt be intimated to the House in due course.
