StraussIn order to facilitate co-operation with local authorities in town and country planning, ten planning officers have been appointed to cover the whole of England and Wales outside London. Their headquarters are at convenient centres and they are available for consultation by the local authorities, and also to advise the Ministry regarding problems arising in their areas. In answer to the last part of the Question, less than one-fifth of the staff of my Department served in the Ministry of Health.
