§ Mr. Brookeasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that British troops in North Africa have been enduring a shortage of soap, although many other needs less important than soap have been amply supplied; and whether the necessary action has been taken to rectify this?
§ Sir J. GriggI understand that there was always ample soap with the Army in North Africa but owing to difficulties of distribution unavoidable in a military operation of this kind some units may not in the early stages have received as much soap as usual from the normal sources. I understand that the arrangements are now normal.
