§ Mr. DaltonFollowing signs of a growing shortage of hand knitting wool suitable for babies' garments, the wool controller, at my request, made arrangements some time ago for increasing very substantially the production of yarns of this type. Despite the reduced capacity of the wool spinning industry as a whole, the output of this kind of yarn is now greater than before the war. This increase in output should very shortly be reflected in increased supplies in the shops. In order to economise in labour and raw materials, the whole of the present output is being produced in white, pale blue or pink.
